DROWNING

Prevention Week

July 18 - 25th

“Water Means Wait”

Drowning Prevention Week is a community-wide initiative led by the Winter Park Blue Dolfins Foundation to raise awareness about drowning risks and promote the lifesaving value of water safety education.

The week kicks off with a free community swim lesson and a special meet-and-greet with five-time Olympian and world record holder Alia Atkinson. Each day will feature a unique opportunity to learn, engage, and take action to prevent drowning.

The week's activities culminate on July 25, as the Foundation joins organizations and communities around the world in observing World Drowning Prevention Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness and promoting solutions that can save lives.

"Water Means Wait"—a simple rule that reminds children to stop, think, and wait for an adult before approaching or entering any body of water.
